The 25th Beijing International Medical Tourism Fair, held from November 13 to 15, 2025 at the Beijing International Exhibition Center, brought together leading medical providers, clinics, and agencies from around the world. Organized by Guangzhou Zhenghe Exhibition Services Co., Ltd., the fair continues to be one of the key platforms for international patient engagement in China.
SILK Medical participated with a team consisting of Zima Filippov (International IVF Manager), Dr. Nina Gribanova (Gynaecologist, Reproductologist, MD), and Asem Dawoud, PhD (Biologist, Immunologist). The focus was on presenting the clinic’s IVF, egg donation, and surrogacy programs, strengthening partnerships, and providing in-person guidance to patients.
Engagement With Patients and Partners at the Fair
Interest in IVF and surrogacy programs continues to grow steadily in mainland China, largely because local legislation limits treatment options. Georgia’s legal framework and SILK Medical’s programs fill that gap, so the Beijing fair allowed hundreds of visitors to speak with our team directly, ask medical questions, compare programs, and understand how the process works step by step.
Throughout the fair, we held long discussions with agencies and representatives from Chinese hospitals. Several partnership agreements were initiated on the spot, focusing on patient coordination, medical document support, and streamlined communication channels before patient travel. This alone made the trip worthwhile, as local partners remain essential for guiding patients through early stages of planning.
The flow of visitors also made it clear how much Chinese families value transparent rules for parentage in surrogacy programs abroad. Many had researched Georgia’s legal structure before visiting the booth and wanted confirmation on how documentation works after birth. These conversations set the tone for deeper follow-up discussions later in the week.
Key Program Topics Discussed at the Fair
Visitors were primarily interested in:
- Surrogacy legislation in Georgia
- Eligibility rules (marriage requirements, documentation, medical criteria)
- Donor options
- IVF success rates
- Costs compared to domestic Chinese clinics
- The logistics of creating embryos locally vs. in Georgia
- The practical steps of shipping embryos
- Surrogate mother selection, origins, medical screening, and supervision
- Legal protection for parents after birth
Many attendees also asked about our technologies, including the AI-assisted EmbryoScope and the IVFID Witness system. These sparked a lot of interest, especially among visitors who had previously done unsuccessful IVF cycles elsewhere.
Patient Conference With YoMile Health
Following the fair, SILK Medical took part in a dedicated conference for Chinese patients, organized together with YoMile Health. This event allowed for structured presentations and in-depth medical explanations beyond what is possible at an exhibition booth.
Zima Filippov opened the conference with a detailed overview of surrogacy processes in Georgia. The presentation covered program structure, document requirements, medical stages, surrogate mother screening, the origins of surrogate candidates, and the steps involved from embryo transfer to receiving the newborn’s passport.
Dr. Nina Gribanova continued with a medical session on IVF outcomes in different fertility scenarios. She focused on how ovarian reserve, embryo development, genetic testing, and laboratory technology influence the probability of pregnancy. Her talk provided clarity for patients with previous unsuccessful IVF attempts.
Asem Dawoud, PhD presented the clinic’s work in regenerative approaches aimed at improving endometrial quality, including stem-cell-based methods that may support implantation. His segment generated significant interest among women with thin lining or recurrent implantation failure.
Individual Consultations After the Event
The conference concluded with personal consultations for patients who wanted to review their medical cases directly with the SILK Medical team. These discussions included analysis of hormone results, sperm parameters, donor needs, embryo quality, and the suitability of various program formats. For many attendees, this was the first opportunity to receive precise, structured feedback on their fertility case.
These consultations also helped patients who had embryos stored in China understand the requirements for shipping them to Georgia, as well as those preparing for upcoming IVF cycles and evaluating the expected timelines for treatment.
Strengthening SILK Medical’s Presence in China
Beijing remains one of the most important regions for international fertility patients. The combination of limited local treatment options and strong interest in legally secure surrogacy solutions continues to shape patient demand. This year’s fair and conference confirmed that families are looking for direct access to specialists, clear explanations of each stage of the process, and a structured roadmap for treatment abroad.
The week in Beijing strengthened communication with existing partners and established new channels for cooperation with agencies and hospitals. It also provided Chinese families with a reliable way to assess SILK Medical’s programs face-to-face, which remains essential for long-term patient confidence.
Outlook
SILK Medical will continue participating in China’s major medical tourism events and patient conferences. The engagement seen in Beijing shows that direct interaction with the medical team remains one of the most effective ways to support patients as they evaluate IVF, donor programs, and surrogacy options abroad.
